This Privacy Policy explains how we handle personal data when you use scentrev.com and related services in India. By using the site you acknowledge this policy. If you do not agree, please do not use the site.
1. Who we are
ScentRev is operated by DATAIBX PRIVATE LIMITED, 3-9-645/9, Road No 8, Sainath Colony, Vanasthalipuram, Hyderabad, Telangana 500070, India. Grievance contact: grievance@scentrev.com.
2. What we collect
- Account and profile: name, email, phone, password or auth tokens, saved addresses, preferences (e.g. wishlist, quiz answers you choose to save).
- Orders and fulfilment: cart contents, shipping address, order history, delivery and return communications.
- Payments: payment status and references from Razorpay. We do not store full card PAN or CVV on our servers.
- Technical data: IP address, device/browser type, pages viewed, approximate location derived from IP, cookies and similar technologies.
- Support: messages you send to support@scentrev.com or chat, including attachments you upload for claims.
3. Why we use your data
- To create and secure your account, process orders, ship products, and handle returns.
- To send transactional emails/SMS (order, shipping, OTP, security).
- To send marketing only when you opt in; you can unsubscribe any time.
- To prevent fraud, abuse, and payment disputes.
- To improve the catalogue, recommendations, and site performance.
- To meet legal, tax, and accounting duties in India.
4. Legal basis (DPDP Act, 2023 — draft framing)
We process personal data for specified purposes with your consent where required, and for legitimate uses such as fulfilling a contract (your order), security, and legal compliance. You may withdraw consent for optional processing (for example marketing) without affecting services that still need the data to complete an order you placed.
5. Sharing
We share data only as needed with:
- Payment processor: Razorpay
- Logistics partners and courier companies for delivery
- Email/SMS and analytics providers that process data on our instructions
- Professional advisors or authorities when required by law
We do not sell your personal data.
6. Cookies and analytics
We use essential cookies for login, cart, and security. We may use analytics tools (for example PostHog) to understand how the shop is used. You can control cookies in your browser; blocking essential cookies may break checkout.
We do not currently change behaviour based on browser “Do Not Track” signals because those signals are not standardised.
7. Retention
We keep account and order records as long as your account is active and as required for tax, dispute, and legal retention. Support tickets and claim evidence are kept for a reasonable period to resolve issues and defend claims. When data is no longer needed we delete or anonymise it where feasible.
8. Your rights
Subject to the Digital Personal Data Protection Act, 2023 and applicable rules, you may request access, correction, erasure, or withdrawal of consent for optional processing. Write to grievance@scentrev.com. We may need to verify your identity and may retain data when the law requires it (for example invoices).
9. Children
The site is for users who are 18 or older (and of majority where you live). We do not knowingly collect personal data from children. If you believe a minor has given us data, contact the grievance email above.
10. Security
We use HTTPS, access controls, and industry-standard payment security (including PCI-DSS practices via our payment partner). No online system is perfectly secure; if we learn of a breach that affects you, we will follow applicable notice rules.
11. International transfers
Some processors may store or process data outside India. Where that happens we rely on contractual and organisational safeguards appropriate under Indian law.
12. SMS and email marketing
Transactional messages are part of fulfilling your order. Promotional SMS/email are sent only if you opt in. Reply STOP or use unsubscribe links to opt out of marketing. We do not use third-party US SMS “Messaging Terms” templates hosted on external domains for this policy.
13. Changes
We may update this policy. The “Effective” date at the top will change when we publish a material update. Continued use after that date means you accept the revised policy.
